Michael Dowling, Group CTO and Chief Architect for Blockchain Financial Services at IBM recently conducted an AMA on reddit in regards to the Universal Payment Solution product that IBM announced at SIBOS, developed in conjunction with Stellar. Stellar is a decentralized protocol that allows someone to send money to anyone in the world, for free, instantly, and in any currency.
IBM needs no introductions. Anytime a company as large as IBM announces a partnership with a blockchain company, it creates excitement and expectation. The crypto community was immediately hyped by this announcement, as evidenced by Stellar’s token price movement. However, much was left to be desired after the initial announcement and it's refreshing to see Michael Dowling’s enthusiasm and involvement with the community by hosting an AMA to answer any questions in regards to Stellar and blockchain technology in general.
Take a read through the questions and answers in the AMA thread on reddit.
Michael Dowling mentioned that a detailed blog post to follow up will be coming soon. We will update this article with his blog post as soon as it is released.
We hear news all the time that big companies are starting to look into blockchain technology. It’s very exciting that a major corporation such as IBM is able to go into details about their partnerships and to really start working with promising blockchain companies. Hopefully this is the beginning of many more announcements!
