Blockchain Interoperability Alliance Announced

We believe the next major area of focus in cryptocurrency development will be interoperability.

To this end, Aion, Wanchain, and ICON have announced the formation of the Blockchain Interoperability Alliance at Consensus: Invest 2017 today. All three companies have the same goal in mind, which is to construct a global interconnected network of blockchain protocols.

Matthew Spoke, Founder of Aion, made a couple key points in the announcement. He also helped start the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance earlier this year and is a founding board member there.

“We believe that collaborating across projects will help set best practices for blockchain interoperability and encourage broader market adoption across enterprises and the public.”

“The Alliance’s first priority is to share and collaborate on research and design for cross-chain transactions and communication.”

Although Aion, Wanchain, and ICON are three different companies aiming to solve the same problem, they are working together instead of competing with each other. Sharing ideas and research will only help to expedite the development of all three projects. It is also important to note that Aion is focused on North America, ICON is focused on South Korea, and Wanchain is focused on China and Singapore. This alliance allows all three companies to gain further exposure outside of their respective markets.

They are also open to having other related projects and enterprises join the alliance to further the growth of blockchain interoperability by engaging in mutually beneficial collaboration.

We have recently published an analysis of Aion that can be viewed here.
